Have you ever noticed these trucks in the square ahead Carrefour in this famous photo? Did you think these trucks were placed by people who took part in the boycott on Carrefour in Hefei?

Well, I took it for granted as you. But maybe we were wrong. A source says these trucks were placed according to the demand of the authorities to prevent angry people getting too close to this Carrefour subbranch and smashing the French super market! Another source says it was done by the market itself. Maybe it will be a secret for ever.

A source says some Tibetan separatists have sneaked in the crowd of people who boycott Carrefour in Hefei. Now the students of those universities and colleges in Hefei have been asked to keep calm and stay in the campus!

I have just confirmed that the school authorities have taken action to stop the students going out of the campus and keep them staying in. Just now I called some friends of mine in other colleges in Hefei.

A source says according to the Anhui authorities, Hefei’s institutions for higher learning, especially some of the universities and colleges near those Carrefour subbranches will be locked from tomorrow (Monday, April 21st) on. But until now there is no sign that my school (USTC) will put into practice.

Besides, it is raining today in Hefei. So the scale of today’s boycott has brought down.

Peaceful Protest in front of Carrefour on April 19th evening

There are 3(?) Carrefour subbranches in Hefei. After poeple finished protesting in front of the biggest subbranch in Anhui International Shopping Center at noon, they walked up to another subbranch on Ma’anshan Road and then went downtown.

In the afternoon, they went on calling on other citizens to boycott Carrefour when they were in front of that Carrefour subbranch. Though the road went crowded, everything there was in order.

Maybe this night people will go on. Anyway, I will focus on this.

Update: This afternoon there were still crowds of people in front of the Carrefour subbranch in Anhui International Shopping Center. I guess maybe they were new.
